| | Posted : 31 Oct 2016 - 14:21 Post title : 2017 SPRING FLOCKING - VICTORIA (TB1600) | | | As I understand it Victoria were voted to run the 2017 Spring Flocking, currently Dale, Ray and I are looking at 2 locations Mansfield in the high country and Lakes Entrance on the coast. We need to go firm on a date so people can book their holidays etc, at the moment we are looking at the weekend before the MOTO GP which is 13 - 14 October 2017.
This date is now up for discussion and once agreed on will be confirmed at the venue decided on and more info will be posted.

was told about the bike discount...Good rooms too...The bar and pokie area would be too small for our group but they have an upstairs area with bar that could be opened for us...Worth a look greg

By the way: the 13th/14th October 2017 is a Friday/Saturday; did actually mean the weekend: 7th & 8th October 2017?

As I'm a member of the RSL, the RSL have offered discount to the group and I have based the quotes on 50 people.

Thank you for your enquiry in regard to your group stay arriving 13th October and departing 15th October 2017.
At this stage we have rooms available to cater for your group. We have rooms that would suit your group with a mix of queen, queen and single, queen and 2 singles etc.
Parking is outside your room in most cases.
We have a great bistro, and a lounge / bar area upstairs where your group could meet. There is also a recreation room near your rooms that you could use if needed.
The cost with your discount included is $72 for a single, $77 for double/twin and $99 for triple share (2016 prices)
Please be aware that we have a small price rise each year and that the cost may rise by a couple of dollars.

I phoned Rhonda at the RSL Glenara Motel this arvo and have made a pencil booking for the "Thunderbird 1600 group" which is flexible but be warned they do get fully booked at that time of year so phone up and make your booking ASAP, I have arranged for no deposit bookings at this early stage all they need is your name and phone number.
I have pencil booked the following room types for 13 to 15 October 2017 ( there are 50 rooms there):
10 x singles @ $72.00 per night
20 x twins @ $77.00 per night
5 x triples @ $99.00 per night
These prices could increase by a couple of dollars as they have not set 2017 prices yet.
To book a room phone Rhonda on 03 51551555 extension 1 and mention the Thunderbird group.

The motel has a upstairs bar lounge which will be good for the Friday night meet and greet.
They also have a 100 seat bistro with Aussie and Chinese meals which could be suitable for the Saturday night dinner (we will need to book seats prior to the flocking) and we can use the upstairs lounge for our meeting after dinner to decide the location of the next flocking.
Dale and I will do a recce early next year with more info to follow then.
NB. YOU WILL NEED TO BOOK IN ASAP AS THE MOTEL DOES GET BOOKED OUT THAT TIME OF YEAR.
